We leave December 23

On December 23, ten people representing Mount Zion Temple in St. Paul leave for two weeks in Uganda.  Some of our plans include distributing mosquito nets at the Tobin Health Center in Mbale, painting a synagogue in the town of Namonyonyi, and delivering oral histories written by Mount Zion member Hannah Nemer (based on in-person interviews of Abayudaya community members that Hannah conducted last summer).

We are still collecting toothbrushes and toothpaste to bring to the community  - please bring supplies to the bin outside of my office at Mount Zion.  We are also collecting donations for  more mosquito nets.  We've already raised enough to purchase over 300 nets!  To donate online, please go to:

or you can bring a check to the Mount Zion office.  Please write checks to: B'chol Lashon with Mosquito Nets on the memo line.

We will update our blog as much as possible once we begin our adventure!

L'shalom,

Rachel Stock Spilker, Cantor
